Biography

I began life in the small city of Invercargill in 1981. I moved to Christchurch in 2000 to attend Canterbury University.

I earned a first class honours degree in English and in Political Science from Canterbury University.

I have stood twice for Parliament in the Rakaia electorate, worked for Tim Barnett MP in Parliament for 2 years, and worked for 3 years with key community leaders in Christchurch on behalf of five Christchurch Labour MPs and Government Ministers.

I currently work at the Problem Gambling Foundation as the National Public Health Practice Leader and am co-owner and marketing director for a small tech business called Skytech.

I became a JP at the end of 2007, am the chair of the Riccarton Residents Association, am on the board of the Christchurch Council of Social Services and Q-topia, and am involved in several community organisations.

music, guitar, reading, politics, singing, movies and tv, sport (mainly rugby, netball and cricket).
